With the integrated search service, search hits matching a keyword are displayed from all linked databases, including the digital dictionary, Korean Studies Primary Sources Database, Jangseogak Digital Archives, Research Publication Information Database and the image database. Selecting one of the search results redirects users to a new page with detailed information.
Users can access desired material by browsing the directories of the information system, organized by type (old books or documents), subject (king/royal house, politics/ administration, economy and society) and holding institution. With the directory service, users can view summary information, detailed information and introductory information on a book or document of interest, as well as its full text and full-text image files.
The chronological table service displays chronological information on a history book or document, related to its date of publication/creation, or the chronology of events covered within it. Search can be performed either by period, year or book or document title. Chronological tables provide direct links to full information on items listed within them. .
The geographical location of a material is displayed on a satellite map along with other relevant information. Users can launch a search through the digital map, either by place name, name of holding institution, title of a book or document or address and obtain additional information on an item, using the hyperlinks provided. The map service notably allows to view the geographical distribution of ancient Korean books, documents and records and locations of foreign holding institutions in countries such as the US, Japan and France.
